Pretty much a very complicated week. All was well until Tuesday evening when I slipped going down the stairs. My ankle hurt like hell and I had myself to blame for not using the Treppenhaus light. I have this habit of going up and down the stairs without the lights. I've had this impression that it allows onlookers from outside to determine what floor and apartment a person resides (you know one cannot be too careful these days). However, it was to my disadvantage that Tuesday evening as I was going to my fitness class. I did manage to complete the entire class with little difficulty, but I knew it felt different to the time I had the same accident with my left ankle (on the same stairs, at the same position) last year. Off to the orthopedic I was on Wednesday morning. It was a bit funny as I had my work computer with me, and I was responding to emails while in the waiting room of the practice. I had an initial examination by Tim B. and he asked me to get an X-ray done. After about 10 minutes, I has the X-ray done and was waiting for him again. Thankfully, there was no major damage done, but I got a bandage wrapped around the affected area and I declined a sick note. Given the things happening in the company at the moment, it didn't seem like a good time to get another sick note. Hence, I trudged on, bearing the pain and smiling.

On Thursday, I was introduced to the new guys from the newly acquired company and after the intro call, one of them reached out to me to discuss a bit about the working style. I tried my best to discuss how we worked, the processes and the tools we used. I mentioned one of the platforms we employed for daily work and they said it wasn't mentioned to them. I reached out to 'their manager' to mention what had transpired and she basically reprimanded me for discussing with 'her team members' whom she is responsible for their onboarding. As the chilled guy I am, I apologized and told her 'Okay, noted'. The tried to downplay with mention of team structure/organization, but I got the message. It is effectively everyone for themselves. That was all the motivation I needed and I initiated my job search mode. It seems I have become too comfortable here, and I need some new challenges to get myself back on my toes. I successfully sent in an application to Airbus on Friday morning and I pray my Lord grants it to me if it is best for me.

Oh well, I'm back to being sick again. I had a scratchy throat on Friday, fever and headaches on Saturday. I think I narrowed it down to the Okra soup I had. That was the only thing I could like to both times I was sick. I'm not sure, but let's see. Saturday was a cluster fuck and I just cannot write about it here. It involves me being sick, a restaurant, and a long walk. Sunday isn't much different, only that I get to go through Airport security with my items being flagged during the scan. A few hours later, I am sipping ginger tea and typing this to make sure I keep up with my routine.

60811 steps, with Saturday being the highest at 15799. A fair increase from last week, but let's see how well I can keep up with the sickness weighing me down.
